BSTA

Secure, global IP address over BGAN with private backhaul

The Inmarsat Broadband Global Area Network Secure Terrestrial Access (BSTA) solution provides end-to-end private and secure data network capabilities on a global basis. As a private network, it offers the security capabilities government end users demand.

Inmarsat Government’s BSTA solution provides end-to-end private and secure data network capabilities on a global basis. With BSTA, all customers’ traffic travels on a secure network, never touching the public internet. Users and partners access Inmarsat BGAN, FleetBroadband and SwiftBroadband services via Inmarsat Government’s privately-owned, fully-redundant, secure Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) backbone and transport sensitive information over classified and unclassified networks, corporate networks, other BGAN terminals and Inmarsat Government VSAT locations. BSTA elements are collocated at the Inmarsat Satellite Access Stations (SAS), enabling a completely private and secure network design, significantly reducing security vulnerabilities for our customers. As a private network, BSTA offers the security capabilities that our U.S. government customers require, without limiting the worldwide capabilities of the Inmarsat satellite solution.
